Hi. I’m Kate. I live on the prairie, in a small city where people are still more rural than not. I’m a single 28 year old soon-to-be foster mom. I live in a tiny condo in a run down neighborhood spacious 4 bedroom multilevel house from the 60s with a dog, four cats, four fish, and two golden snails. Someday, I will live in a house on a couple acres of land with chickens, some sheep, a couple rabbits, and a goat. But not today.

I work for a large bank doing a job I don’t mind too terribly, though it’s far from my dream job. My dream job, frankly, is not working at all, but a chick’s gotta do what a chick’s gotta do. Somebody’s gotta pay the mortgage on this place, after all, and I don’t see my cats bringing home a paycheck anytime soon.

Aside from work, I spend my time engrossed in my many hobbies – reading, writing, cooking, internet surfing, knitting, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, photography, gardening, shopping, and dreaming about having a maid. Soon, after I really get involved in foster care, I expect that list will grow to add mothering, changing diapers, growing gray hair, depriving myself of sleep, and lugging children around from one activity to the next.

But that’s all for another day.
